“Go!”

Boom!

A shout echoed out, and a frenzied sea of cultivators charged towards the portal!

****

Long Di and the others didn’t even get time to figure out what just happened.

What in the purgatory happened to Shen Ling!?

Did she just explode!?

Did their Shen Ling die!?

Shu!

They had no time to think and Long Di realised this. He took in the situation quickly and realised that none of the Elders or Protectors made a move to enter the Relic, only the disciples.

He figured that the same rules probably applied here as well. As a result, he rushed to where Xiannu Liang and the others were and wrapped them in his spiritual force.

Pebbles noticed this and quickly stated. “Long Di, I won’t be able to make a move inside without that old stinking lizard intervening in one way or the other. But… if it helps you save Shen Ling and is necessary, I will!”

“Don’t worry!” Long Di hastily said, wanting to get a move on.

“Let’s go, already!” Mina rushed them. “Can’t let your precious Prime Waifu die after all!”

Long Di then shot off into the relic with them in tow.

The Elder that was going to make a move before didn’t even pay attention to Long Di at the moment and worked with the other Elder to help Yao Tingfeng recover as quickly as possible.

In just a few moments, the bulk of the population here was gone.

Not long after this, several explosions echoed out, and the experts looked to see an extravagant carriage rushing over. The void exploded as it travelled through the air.

An old man, far older-looking here than anyone here, was in the carriage seat. When those present felt his aura, their eyes widened in shock.

“T-That’s a Peak Martial Grandmaster! No, he’s got one foot in the True Star Sage realm!”

“A Quasi True Star Sage!”

“What’s someone so strong doing here!? Is he here for the relic!?”

The experts felt trepidation when feeling this elder’s power. However, another expert noticed something.

“N-No, he’s only the coachman!” he said with a trembling hand.

“What!?”

“Who’s qualified to have such an expert drive their carriage!?”

“Is it one of the Seven Heroes?”

“No, not even the Five Nobles are worthy of such treatment!”

“Then who is it!?”

As they speculated the identity of the owner of the carriage, it already arrived. It trekked along the beaten path until it came just before the portal.

“We are here Young Master.” The old man’s tone was subservient to an obscene degree.

Obviously, whoever it was that was in the carriage was someone he held in great esteem.

The door to the carriage slowly opened to reveal a dashing young man. He wore expensive-looking robes that sat neatly upon his body.

His hair was tied up in a bun while a collection of locks framed his face either way. A manifestation of a

His eyes were piercing and spiritual energy swirled relentlessly within. His bearing bespoke arrogance on a level hitherto unseen.

He appeared cold and unfeeling. Everyone here he looked down on and it made these experts feel uncomfortable.

However, no one dared to say anything as just the old man that now stood behind him was able to wipe everyone one of them out.

This mysterious youth scanned each of them in turn. When the experts here felt his aura, their hearts leapt to their throats. Obviously, he was in the Martial Adept realm, yet he was able to induce such a feeling of dread within them!

“He’s not here,” he said finally.

“Reporting to the Young Master. He may have already entered the Relic,” advised the old man. After he spoke, he closed his eyes and stood there like a statue.

This ‘Young Master’ turned his attention to the swirling portal, flickering with energy. His eyes narrowed thereafter, as if contemplating its intricacies.

Enlightenment soon dawned.

“A True Star Sage-level Relic, not bad. I think I’ll take any worthy treasure here as well.”

When the experts here heard this, their expressions turned ugly.

As a result, an elder, and a woman at that, bit the bullet and stepped forward with cupped fists before she asked a question.

“This esteemed guest, may I know which power you hail from?”

She knew it was the young man who called the shots here. So even though she was his senior, because she didn’t want to risk offending him, she adopted a deferential attitude.

She was also one of the few elders here that was on par with the elders from Breaking Thunder Valley. In fact, there were quite a few people from the top regular sects here, however, they didn’t know how to deal with this.

According to reason, people from the Ten Great Sects should be on their way, but they were most likely running behind schedule. A relic at this level wasn’t something that they would miss.

After all, this youth wasn’t someone they knew, yet his showing alone overshadowed any of the top disciples from the Ten Great Sects.

When the youth heard this elder address him, he sneered in his heart as he disdained to speak with anyone here. “You’re not fit to know the name of my sect.”

“You!” The elder took on the attitude of a junior addressing a senior and yet this youth dared to spurn her.

“What? Do you wish to do something?” the youth asked coldly.

Boom!

Just as they were speaking, another explosion from the distance rang out across the plains.

Looking at the source, people saw an enormous strange contraption heading their way. There was no better way to say this other than it looked like a contortionist looking for work as the next demon to appear in the ring series.

Other than its unnatural movement, it bore a striking resemblance to the puppets designed to look like humans, but failed in every conceivable way. The hair resembled steel wool; the limbs looked like anorexia was a whole mood and the mouth was square with sharp teeth lining the insides.

Combined with the fact that it was travelling with all the grace of a hyperactive toddler on LSD, this thing was ugly. It was ugly all the way from U to Y. It was so ugly, that it made YOU ugly and it couldn’t tell WHY.

When the youth saw this, his face scrunched up in disgust. However, when the experts here saw who it was, their expressions turned into one of joy.

Several experts were atop this strange thing and they were all surrounded by unique and bizarre-looking puppets as well. As soon as it came near, it was obvious this monstrous thing was the exclusive transportation vehicle of the Divine Puppet Sect.

“The top talents of the Ten Great Sects are arriving! The rest are most likely on their way!” said one elder.

When he saw the youth turn his gaze towards him, he blanched and stepped back.

Bam!

When the transportation puppet came before the portal, spirited youth quickly jumped off. As soon as he did so, a mammoth of a puppet came up behind him as well. It didn’t resemble any known beast. Monstrous was the only way to describe it. However, it stood like an ape, and its massive arms evinced terrifying strength.

The back legs were an amalgamation of insect-like legs that continuously trembled as if they were unable to handle its weight.

Countless gears and wheels spun and whirled inside. It even released furious exhausts of spiritual energy like steam from a steam engine. It was a terrifying thing to behold as the experts wondered how such a thing could come to be.

Even the youth stared at this thing with some level of wariness, but overall he wasn’t truly concerned.

Upon seeing everyone staring at his puppet with awe, the newcomer sneered and took in their astonishment.

If Long Di were here, he would recognise this person as Jixie Wudongyuzhong, the top disciple of the Divine Puppet Sect.

When he saw the relic, his eyes brightened. He stepped forward and eyed the relic with greed.

“So this is the True Star Sage-level Relic!”

As soon as he came forward, several other disciples from the Divine Puppet Sect came up behind him as well, followed by their elders.

“Not bad.”

A cold and arrogant voice echoed out stealing Jixie Wudongyuzhong’s attention from the Relic.

When he saw the youth, his eyes widened in shock and the elders behind him grew apprehensive as well, especially when they eyed the old man who accompanied him.

Jixie Wudongyuzhong, on the other hand, was like this for another reason. He couldn’t see through the old man’s strength so his full attention was on the youth before him.

He was an arrogant person through and through. He didn’t put anyone in his eyes, not even the Seven Heroes or the Five Nobles were worthy of his attention. The puppet he planned to build after his trip to the Spiritual Bingqi Realm was something he planned to use to challenge the Five Heroes.

Of course, this didn’t work because of the setback he suffered at Long Di and Yaomu Shou’s hands. Nevertheless, he still managed to build his greatest creation yet even though it was still incomplete, and he planned to use the treasures in the Relic to finish it.

Regardless, this youth he saw before him, gave him a sense of powerlessness for some reason. It wasn’t because he sensed the youth’s power, it was simply because of his intuition as an expert.

“Follow me,” the youth ordered, shocking everyone here.

This mysterious person wanted the top disciple from one of the Ten Great Sects to follow him!?

Was he crazy!?

Who was he!?

However, to their shock, Jixie Wudongyuzhong lowered his head in front of this youth.

When the elders and disciples saw this, they were shocked.

“Jixie Wudongyuzhong!? You can’t!” The elders couldn’t lose Jixie Wudongyuzhong on this trip. How could they explain this to the sect!?

“Hmph!” the youth suddenly snorted and the old man behind him opened his eyes only a crack.

Dum!

The aura of the old man behind the youth exploded in an instant, shutting up the elders behind Jixie Wudongyuzhong.

The youth didn’t care about any of this and simply looked at Jixie Wudongyuzhong for a moment before he turned around to enter the portal.

“Let’s go.”

“Wait!” Jixie Wudongyuzhong called out, causing the youth to pause and look back at him.

“What?” the youth asked coldly. He didn’t believe that this person dared to refuse him.

“There are others on their way! Others as strong as I am,” Jixie Wudongyuzhong admitted.

When the experts here heard this, their countenance fell. Was Jixie Wudongyuzhong betraying his contemporaries?

Sure, they might not be on the same side, but they were from the same place figuratively speaking at the end of the day.

Yet he was telling this stranger about them.

“Oh?” The youth rose a brow of interest in this information. “I have time.”
