Ji Fanyin did not feel like she had the right to handle the other Ji Fanyin’s finances.

As she was stuck in the dilemma, her phone rang.

Ji Fanyin was originally a social recluse. Coupled with the fact that she had not picked up a phone in a year, the ringtone sent chills down her spine. She ran towards the handphone and took a look at the caller ID. It was Shen Qi.

Ji Fanyin knew who Shen Qi was. Possibly even more than the other Ji Fanyin.

She took a deep breath before picking up the call. “Hello.”

“Hello, Ji Fanyin.” Shen Qi did not use honorifics. “Can we talk face-to-face?”

“Ok.” Ji Fanyin agreed but continued to clench her fist uneasily. “Where shall we meet?”

“I am below your apartment,” Shen Qi said.

Ji Fanyin quickly granted his access into the building. Within two minutes, he was standing at her doorstep, looking at her.

His gaze unnerved her, so she took a step back. She could not shake the feeling that those eyes behind the spectacle lenses were staring straight through her soul.

“I still owe you an apology,” Shen Qi said. “What happened to you was mostly my fault.”

Ji Fanyin was about to invite him in. Hearing his apology, she looked towards the ground. “Is that because you are ‘God’?”

“You’ve noticed that.”

Shen Qi walked into the apartment nonchalantly, like he was walking into his own home.

“It’s…” Ji Fanyin whispered, “It’s obvious enough from your name.”

“She didn’t notice that,” Shen Qi said.

Ji Fanyin: “... She merely did not consider it from this perspective. She thought you resembled one of her old friends.”

This seemed to please him. When he finally turned to face her, there were still remnants of a smile in his eyes, making him look less intimidating.

Based on her memory of the place, Ji Fanyin poured a cup of water for Shen Qi. They stood facing each other, separated by the coffee table, when she asked in a quiet voice, “Are you here to tell me what happened?”

Shen Qi nodded. “If we really pursue the matter, I am the main culprit.”
