Weird Live Broadcast: I Can Deduce Endlessly Chapter 61: The Executioner and the Condemned Prisoner

"Once upon a time, there was a criminal who was about to be executed.

The criminal knelt on the ground, trembling with fear.

The executioner approached him from behind and whispered, 'Don't be afraid. I won't cut off your head when the time comes. I will only cut the ropes that bind you. As soon as the blade falls, run away as fast as you can, the farther the better. Remember, never look back.'

The criminal was surprised but chose to believe the executioner's words.

The executioner raised his hand, and the blade fell.

Suddenly, the criminal felt the ropes binding him fall to the ground. He quickly lowered his head and ran out, covering a distance of several tens of miles.

Finally, panting for breath, he returned home and saw his wife.

His wife asked, 'Why are you back?'

The criminal replied, 'I escaped and someone saved me.'

Several years later...

The executioner happened to pass by the criminal's house during a business trip and was surprised to see the criminal's wife holding a newborn baby in her arms.

The criminal saw the executioner and immediately knelt down, bowing his head.

He said, 'Thanks to your help back then, otherwise, I would have lost my head by now.'

The executioner was taken aback and took a long time to reply, 'Didn't I already chop off your head back then?'

The criminal exclaimed in shock and vanished into thin air.

The criminal's wife, child, and the newly built house all disappeared into thin air."

Gu Yi listened to the story with a furrowed brow, feeling a chill down his spine. He felt like he had grasped a key point.

"Yao Yao, did you find that story interesting?"

"Yes... Wu Song is really amazing. He can even kill a tiger."

"Wu Song killed a tiger?"

"Yes, what's wrong?"

Gu Yi was stunned. The stories he and his sister heard were completely different.

This was undoubtedly a hint from the system— introducing the worldview of life and death within the dungeon.

In the story, the criminal had actually died long ago, but if nobody exposed his lie, he could continue to live.

Translator Notes

Hello, I hope you're enjoying the second dungeon. The time concept in this arc is becoming complex, so this note is to simplify it.

Until now, we have learned that Gu Yi has a countdown on his phone, and within that limited time, he must complete the task. Time spent inside the Old house progresses normally and is synchronized with the countdown. However, when Gu Yi's parents assign him tasks that require him to go "outside," the passage of time is determined by his parents. This means that once he sets foot on the road, regardless of his intentions, he will inevitably reach the location his parents desire, and the time deducted will align with their estimation. For example, if his parents believe it will take 11 hours for Gu Yi's school day to end, he will end up at school regardless of any detours he may attempt, and 11 hours will be subtracted from his countdown. [Like when he stayed in school for just 10 minutes, but 11 hours were deducted]

However, there is a peculiar aspect to this arrangement. If Gu Yi's parents instruct him to go to school and he simply stands at their door without venturing onto the road, he will have an infinite amount of time, but his mobility will be limited. The moment he steps onto the road, regardless of what he wants to do, he will be transported to the school at any time, and the corresponding time will be deducted from his countdown. [Just like when he was trying to go in the opposite direction when picking up his sister]

Based on Gu Yi's observations, he speculates that the world he inhabits is an inner world, which explains the peculiar flow of time and the absence of calendars or watches to track its passage. In contrast, he believes the surface world operates under a normal time flow. This leads him to suggest that the Old house may have a connection to the surface world, as time within the house progresses in a conventional manner. And Finally, at the third floor of the house, there's an open room where time flow is very fast.
