There were a total of three steps to select a Moonlight Queen.

First, it was the most basic ascension ritual. Candidates had to take part in the divine ascension first and synchronize with the Main God, Compassion, to advance to become a demigod of the mithril lineage.

Thereafter, the new demigod had to start the sacred test immediately without stopping. She had to visit the tombs of the late queens to awaken the souls of the Moonlight Queens so that she could fight against them and obtain their recognition.

The sacred test was both a test and an opportunity.

Similar to how the purification of the bloodline through the ascension ritual would determine the upper limit of a demigod's future, the blessings of the late queens obtained by the Moonlight Queen in the sacred test would also determine to a large extent the future accomplishments of that Moonlight Queen.

The blessings bestowed by the Moonlight Queens would not only increase the combat strength of the new queen directly, if the previous queens were outstanding enough, their wisdom and lifetime of experience would be an utmost treasure that could change the new queen's fate.

Of course.

Those benefits could not be obtained from those third-rate Moonlight Queens who lived mediocre lives and did not even understand the meaning of their own existences.

That was precisely the reason why the future of a new Moonlight Queen could be seen just by taking a look at their opponents in the sacred test.

The mediocre could only be associated with the mediocre.

Only a true queen who was befitting of the title of the Moonlight Queen would dare to challenge ancestors who were as strong as her.

As for the Breaking Moon Queen...
