Necromancer: I Am A Disaster Chapter 46 - The Best Way Is To Eliminate The Summoner

Even the leader rank monster was instantly killed. Lin Moyu’s strength had clearly been acknowledged by the examiners.

Although the monster had been deliberately weakened, it should have been impossible to eliminate it so effortlessly. This was evident from how much effort the others were exerting.

Xia Xue dodged the Worg Beastman leader’s attacks while relentlessly unleashing skills to fight back.

Wang Zihao, displaying the Berserker’s warlike nature, met the monster head-on with brute force.

Zuo Mei, on the other hand, used a more strategic approach, circling around and restraining the monster—her performance was slightly superior to the others.

Yet, none of them, not even those who chose other difficulties, came close to Lin Moyu’s ease.

While the others struggled, Lin Moyu stood motionless. His two Skeletal Warriors stepped forward, and with two resounding cracks, the battle ended.

“He should be able to solo low-level dungeons.”

“He’s even qualified to solo nightmare rank dungeons below level 20.”

“This might not even be the limit of his combat power. We haven’t truly gauged his capabilities yet.”

“The fifth round will be the real test. If he aims to become the provincial or even the imperial top scorer, he’ll need to he’ll need to pass it.”

“When that time comes, we may finally see the true extent of his combat power.”

The examiners exchanged comments. The contents of the examination were set by senior figures of the empire. The examiners didn’t have the authority to make any changes.

The only one with that authority was Ning Xuanfeng, who had arrived later. He spoke up when he first arrived, but afterward, he remained silent, watching with interest.

The examiners noticed that most of his attention was focused on Lin Moyu. It seemed he was intrigued by Lin Moyu.

The third round of the examination ended in just ten minutes.

Xia Xue, Zuo Mei, and Wang Zihao managed to defeat their opponents, earning 500 points each. For the others, the results were mixed—some succeeded, while others failed.

Another batch of participants was eliminated, losing their qualification to continue to the next round. At the same time, some chose to withdraw voluntarily, while others were forced to stop due to injuries that rendered them incapable of further combat.

Although they were eliminated, their performance was strong enough to secure a spot in a reputable academy.

Out of all participants, only 120 successfully passed the third round.

“The rankings following the third round are out.”

No. 1, Lin Moyu, total points: 2,105.

No. 2, Zuo Mei, total points: 970.

No. 3, Xia Xue, total points: 770.

No. 4, Wang Zihao, total points: 765.

No. 67, Gao Yang, total points: 302.

Lin Moyu noticed Gao Yang’s name on the list. Ranked 67th—quite a respectable result. Having made it this far, Gao Yang was almost certain to gain admission to Jiangning Academy.

Lin Moyu reflected on Gao Yang’s personality. He was a proud individual, unlikely to give up easily. It was clear he would press on to challenge the fourth round.

Meanwhile, Wang Zihao remained in fourth place. He had realized that catching up in the third round was improbable.

As the fourth round approached, Wang Zihao’s determination surged. Gripping his blade tightly with both hands, his eyes gleamed with a fierce fighting spirit, “This is my chance.”

The examiner’s voice rang out once more.

“The fourth round of will be conducted next; it will step up significantly in both difficulty and danger. You may choose to continue or to withdraw. With your current scores, you are guaranteed admission to one of the empire’s top 100 academies.”

This time, no one chose to forfeit. To have made it this far, none of the participants were cowards.

A pure white light descended, enveloping the examinees. Under its radiance, they felt their strength fully restored. Fatigue melted away, attributes were renewed, and skill cooldowns were reset.

“I respect your determination.” The examiner continued, “Here are the rules for the fourth round. You will face 10 waves of monsters. Each wave consists of 10 monsters, totaling 100 monsters. Waves will appear at one-minute intervals, regardless of whether you’ve cleared the previous wave. The final wave will feature a leader rank monster.”

“To pass this round, you must eliminate all the monsters. Each kill will earn you 10 points, and if you defeat every monster, your score will be doubled for a total of 2,000 points.”

As the rules were outlined, a shimmering light curtain appeared before the examinees. Behind it, the first wave of monsters materialized—a group of 10 level-13 Worg Beastmen.

Among them, nine were Warrior-type monsters, and the tenth, positioned at the rear, was a Mage-type monster.

The combination of Warriors and a Mage added a layer of complexity to the challenge.

Lin Moyu quickly analyzed the situation. Without efficient monster-clearing ability, examinees risked being overwhelmed as the waves progressed, leading to inevitable failure.

This round was clearly designed to test rapid monster-clearing ability.

The progression of the examination—from basic combat power to endurance, duel capability, and now monster-clearing efficiency—was both comprehensive and demanding.

The examiners watched eagerly, their eyes fixed on Lin Moyu.

"Let’s see how he responds this time."

"The best way to deal with a Summoner is to eliminate the Summoner, not the summons."

“I think Lin Moyu might finally face some difficulty here.”

“His summons are exceptionally strong. He should be able to manage this round.”

At that moment, Ning Xuanfeng, who had been silent so far, spoke up, “This round won’t stump him.”

The room grew still as the other examiners turned to look at him. Ning Xuanfeng’s words carried weight, his tone brimming with confidence.

Although a few examiners harbored doubts, but with their gap in status, none dared to voice them openly.

In any case, it wouldn’t be long before the results would reveal who was right.
