Necromancer: I Am A Disaster Chapter 43 - Lin Moyu's Side Is Tedious

Without hesitation, Wang Zihao selected the hell rank difficulty.

To him, the choice was obvious—killing a monster in hell rank was equivalent to slaying five in the ordinary rank. His confidence in his combat power left no room for doubt.

"The kid who took first place... You may have won the first round, but don't think you'll beat me in the second round." He muttered, gripping the massive blade unique to his class.

[Wang Zihao, level 16, Berserker]

"Ah, someone chose hell rank difficulty."

"Berserker is a powerful superior class."

"Not bad. Their sustained combat ability is exceptional. Wang Zihao should achieve a high score in this round."

Meanwhile, Xia Xue deliberated before selecting the ordinary rank difficulty.

As an Elemental Mage, close combat wasn't her forte. Without a tank to shield her, confronting powerful monsters head-on was unwise.

Xia Xue’s strategy revolved around quantity rather than quality.

Having secured third place in the first round, she had caught the attention of the examiners. They watched her decision through live footage, exchanging knowing smiles.

[Xia Xue, level 15, Elemental Mage]

"A smart choice."

"Although the Elemental Mage class excels in explosive power, but if you can't eliminate the enemies before they close in, you'll be at a disadvantage."

"Especially at lower levels, with an incomplete skill set, it is more so the case."

Zuo Mei, on the other hand, confidently selected the hell rank difficulty.

[Zuo Mei, level 16, Rogue]

Her choice piqued the interest of the examiners, prompting them to share their thoughts.

"As a superior Assassin-type class, Rogue thrives in close combat"

"Whether you pick nightmare or hell rank difficulty, it's a solid choice."

"Indeed; a promising seedling."

"I wonder what difficulty Lin Moyu will choose."

With most notable candidates having made their selections, only Lin Moyu's decision remained.

After reviewing the rules for this round, he calmly assessed the situation, "This round is a test of sustained combat ability. A 30-minute-long battle will push most classes to their limits. But I am different."

A faint smile played on his lips as he made his choice, "I choose hell rank difficulty."

For Lin Moyu, the higher the difficulty, the greater the advantage. His skills were overwhelmingly powerful, making hell rank an ideal choice for maximizing points and reaping greater rewards.

One of the examiners smiled knowingly, "As expected, he chose hell rank."

"He's both a Mage and a Summoner. With his summon by his side, he has little to fear from these monsters."

"Not to mention his skill is exceptionally potent. Together with his summon, he's poised to secure a high score."

"Most Summoners in past tests have opted for hell rank difficulty."

"Let's see how he performs."

Meanwhile, outside the examination site, high school principals from across Jiangning Province gathered to observe the competition.

"Old Lu, you've hit it big this year."

"0.1 seconds! I've never seen such a result in my life."

"Two of the top three candidates are from your school, Old Lu. You've struck gold."

"If Lin Moyu clinches the provincial top scorer title, you'll be over the moon."

Lu Yun’s face flushed with excitement. He hadn't expected Lin Moyu to achieve such an impressive result. In his excitement, words failed him, and his body trembled.

Once all candidates had made their selections, the second round began.

In front of Lin Moyu, a swirling mass of light materialized, resembling the gateway to a dungeon.

An armored monster emerged from within the mass of light emerged and let out a roar.

Lin Moyu’s Skeletal Warrior reacted instantly, charging at the monster and welcoming it with a blade strike.

At the same time, Lin Moyu cast the Detection spell to assess his opponent.

[Worg Beastman Warrior (elite)]

[Level: 13]

[Strength: 500]

[Agility: 300]

[Spirit: 150]

[Physique: 400]

These attributes… it was weak. Compared to the nightmare rank monsters Lin Moyu faced in the Xihai Mine Dungeon, this creature was far inferior.

Lin Moyu quickly understood why. The reason was clear—this was an examination, designed to accommodate the majority of examinees.

If the monsters were excessively strong, a large number of candidates would be eliminated, defeating the exam's purpose. The goal was not to weed out participants but to identify exceptional talents.

The Worg Beastman was met with the Skeletal Warrior’s blade. The strike tore through its flesh, nearly ending it in a single blow. As it prepared to counterattack, a second strike fell, finishing it off.

"It takes two strikes." Lin Moyu noted.

He raised a hand and summoned another Skeletal Warrior. The two skeletons took their positions flanking the mass of light, ready for the next monster.

Five seconds later, another Worg Beastman emerged. The Skeletal Warriors moved in unison, dispatching the creature instantly.

"It’s too easy." Lin Moyu muttered.

After a few cycles, he realized that each time he killed a monster, another would appear five seconds later. This round focused on sustained combat ability.

The examiners were astonished.

"How are Lin Moyu’s summons so powerful?"

"They surpass anything we’ve seen from other Summoners."

"And he has two of them!"

"This class… it’s incredible."

In addition to his impressive summons, Lin Moyu’s own combat ability was also formidable. The Necromancer class was incredible.

On Lin Moyu’s side, the battle was tedious. With two Skeletal Warriors guarding the mass of light, any monster that appeared was immediately slain.

After a while, the examiners shifted their attention to other participants.

On Xia Xue’s side, the battle was more dynamic. Gripping her stave, she unleashed her skills with precision.

Having chosen the ordinary rank, the monsters she faced weren’t particularly strong, but defeating them still required two skill casts.

Xia Xue focused on minimizing her spirit force consumption, constantly fine-tuning her attacks.

While her display was monotonous, it was still far more engaging than Lin Moyu’s.
