I’ll Take That Opportunity Chapter 38 - Predestination Treasure Emporium

After arriving at the location, Ye Lin crouched down and parted the tall grass, revealing a sparkling crystal nestled within.

Beside it lay a yellowish-brown fruit resting on the soil.

"Is this the Boreal Wind Fruit?"

He picked it up and placed it into his Interspatial Ring, then turned his attention to the glimmering crystal.

"A mid-grade Spirit Stone. The dense spirit qi from it must've nurtured the Boreal Wind Fruit."

Ye Lin examined the Spirit Stone, sensing its qi carefully. After a moment, he tossed it aside with a look of disdain.

It was indeed mid-grade, but the spirit qi within was nearly depleted—practically useless.

"Now I have the Boreal Wind Fruit and the Ice Soul Needles. All that remains is the greatest opportunity—Unified Three Purities."

Rising slowly, Ye Lin gazed into the distance toward Huangjin City, located five hundred kilometers from the Azure Cloud Sect. He couldn’t understand why Lin Zisheng would travel so far.

But it didn’t matter now. The opportunity was his.

"Huangjin City, here I come."

One day later, Ye Lin stood before a massive city gate, awed by its scale.

Huangjin City was a fortress—vast and imposing—far grander than any small city. It was also a known hub for cultivators.

As he stepped through the gate, the guards didn’t even spare him a glance, allowing him to pass freely.

"I wonder where the antique market is?" Surveying the bustling crowd, Ye Lin fell into thought.

Just then, a man appeared at his side. He had a sleazy air, sported a handlebar mustache, and stood no taller than 1.6 meters.

"Hey, Brother, looking for the antique market?"

"Yes." Ye Lin nodded, "I’ve heard of Huangjin City’s famous antique market and came to see it for myself."

"You’ve found the right man." The stranger said with a slap to his thigh, "Name’s Wang Laoliu. You can call me Old Wang or Laoliu—whichever works for you. There’s nothing in Huangjin City I don’t know."

"Then would you mind showing me the way?"

With a sly grin, Wang Laoliu extended his hand and rubbed his thumb and forefinger together. Ye Lin understood immediately.

"Take me there first. You’ll be rewarded afterward."

Wang Laoliu chuckled and circled Ye Lin, "No problem, Brother. Follow me."

He led the way through winding alleys, with Ye Lin close behind. Eventually, they arrived at a large gateway adorned with a gilded plaque. Two bold characters were etched into it: Antique Market.

"Here we are."

"Want me to come with you inside?"

"Actually, do you know where the Predestination Treasure Emporium is?"

Wang Laoliu glanced at Ye Lin, a strange look flickering across his face.

"You’re looking for the Predestination Treasure Emporium? Brother, that place is infamous for being a scam—out of ten antiques, not a single one is real.”

"It’s fine. I’ve heard plenty about it, and I’m just curious. I want to see it for myself."

Wang Laoliu nodded, "Indeed, although the Predestination Treasure Emporium is a scam, its reputation is legendary. Since that's the case, I shall lead you there."

With that, he led Ye Lin into the antique market.

Along the roadside, vendors smiled from bustling stalls, their exaggerated sales pitches filling the air as they eagerly vied for customers.

“Come, honored customers! All my treasures were unearthed from ancient ruins! Even the Azure Cloud Sect’s sect master praised them!”

“Take a look at mine! I risked my life retrieving these from a secret realm—nearly died in the process! Perfect for immortal cultivators. You won’t regret it!”

A young man approached a stall and asked, “Big Brother, if these turn out to be fake, will you compensate me?”

The vendor hesitated, then replied solemnly, “Young man, everything in this world runs on karma. You pay, I provide the goods—our karma ends there. There's no further tie between us.”

“Forget compensation; that’s not the point. Why don’t you take a look first?”

Hearing this, the young man slipped away without another word.

“This is the Predestination Treasure Emporium.” Wang Laoliu announced.

Ye Lin stood before the grand, ancient-looking building and nodded silently. It was indeed impressive.

“Thanks for guiding me.” He tossed Wang Laoliu a silver ingot.

Wang Laoliu caught it with a grin, “Much appreciated! But a word of advice, Brother. This place is notorious for ripping people off. Tread carefully.”

With that, he patted his backside and sauntered off into the crowd. Ye Lin glanced around, then stepped inside.

The interior was vast and filled with small tables, each displaying a variety of antiques. Whether they were genuine or not, however, was anyone’s guess.

“Honored customers, are you from outside the city?” A portly middle-aged man looked at Ye Lin with gleaming eyes.

The Predestination Treasure Emporium had a certain reputation in Huangjin City. Without fail, everyone who stepped inside was a newcomer from outside the city.

“Yes, I am.” Ye Lin replied, “I heard this place houses many treasures, so I came to take a look.”

He walked up to a vase and asked, “How much is this one?”

The shopkeeper, Wang Guofu, gave him a disdainful look, “Talking about price? Far too crude. Here at Predestination Treasure Emporium, we believe in predestination.”

Ye Lin caught on quickly, “Ah… then this item and I must be predestined.”

“Five taels.” Wang Guofu replied.

Ye Lin was speechless for a moment, then feigned wandering while secretly searching for the shabby vase.

Just then, two more customers entered. One was a young man in white robes, a sword strapped to his back—clearly a refined young master. The other was a strikingly beautiful young woman.

“Ah, honored customers! You must also be from outside the city?”

Wang Guofu muttered under his breath, “What’s with all the business today?”

But he quickly shifted to a warm welcome.

“Yes, we’re from the Heavenly Sword Sect.” The young man said, “Junior Disciple Sister, browse freely. Let me know if anything catches your eye. Once we’re done here, we still need to investigate the deviant devil traces.”

“The Heavenly Sword Sect? Investigating deviant devils?” Ye Lin’s heart stirred.

“Oh, so you're from the Heavenly Sword Sect! Miss, feel free to choose anything you like—I’ll give you a 20% discount!” Wang Guofu stiffened slightly.

The Heavenly Sword Sect was a prominent force in the region, second only to the Azure Cloud Sect. He couldn't afford to offend them.

“Looks like I’ll be taking a loss this time…”

He glanced at Ye Lin still browsing aimlessly and relaxed a little, “At least I can make up the loss by overcharging this clueless fellow.”

“My friend, I’m Tang Xue, a disciple of the Heavenly Sword Sect.” The young woman said with a friendly smile, “Are you also here searching for treasures?”

“No,” Ye Lin replied, “Just looking around.”
