I’ll Take That Opportunity Chapter 26 - Entering The Inner Sect

"A green fate grade… this is my first time seeing one." Ye Lin sighed inwardly as he gazed at Lin Ziyou’s fate grade.

Until now, he had only ever encountered white fate grade.

Today, he finally witnessed a green one.

“An inner disciple… truly extraordinary.”

Seeing Lin Ziyou’s opportunity—a high-grade mystic-tier Nirvana Fruit—Ye Lin felt a surge of joy. It was the first time he’d seen such a rare spirit fruit.

"Senior Disciple Brother Ye, we should go."

Huang Xiong’s words snapped Ye Lin out of his thoughts.

"Alright, let’s go."

Ye Lin cast a final glance at Lin Ziyou, then followed Huang Xiong toward the Inner Sect.

The Azure Cloud Sect was divided into Outer Sect and Inner Sect. The Outer Sect housed the outer disciples and handyman disciples, while the Inner Sect was home to inner disciples, personal disciples, elders, and the sect master.

The Inner Sect was the true heart of the Azure Cloud Sect.

After passing through a wooden gate and several layers of identity verification, Ye Lin finally stepped inside.

“What rich spirit qi…”

He was stunned. The spirit qi here was at least ten times denser than in the Outer Sect.

“Senior Disciple Brother Ye, let’s collect your monthly resources first, then apply for your medicinal bath.” Huang Xiong said.

Ye Lin nodded, and Huang Xiong led the way to the Inner Sect Office, a department dedicated to handling various administrative matters.

“Senior Disciple Brother, this is the newly promoted inner disciple.” Huang Xiong said respectfully, introducing Ye Lin to the disciple stationed at the department.

“So you’re the one who defeated Lin Ziyou?” The disciple looked up, his gaze settling on Ye Lin.

Ye Lin simply nodded, calm and composed.

“Not bad. From now on, we’re fellow disciples. But remember, the Inner Sect isn’t like the Outer Sect.”

“Here, the competition is intense. If you slack off in your cultivation, one day you’ll leave the same way you came in. Understand?”

“Thank you for the advice, Senior Disciple Brother.” Ye Lin replied, bowing respectfully.

Just then, a transparent panel materialized before Ye Lin’s eyes.

[Name: Zhao Li]

[Cultivation base: 9th layer Qi Refinement]

[Fate grade: white]

[Fate trait: decent perception, innate immense strength]

[Fate prediction: after a lifetime of cultivation, you will reach the Gold Core realm and become a grand elder of the Azure Cloud Sect. In the end, you will die of old age.]

[Upcoming opportunity: in five days, while exploring the Inner Sect Secret Realm, you will discover three Fire Spirit Stones in the Blazing Valley. After refining them, your spirit root will gradually transform into a Fire Spirit Root, greatly enhancing your combat prowess.]

[Decent perception: your perception surpasses the average cultivator, allowing you to grasp complex cultivation techniques more easily.]

[Innate immense strength: from childhood, you possessed strength far beyond others. Through cultivation, this advantage will be further amplified.]

Zhao Li nodded approvingly, “Good. I’m Zhao Li. If you run into any trouble, come find me.”

“These are your monthly resources. Also, in five days, the Inner Sect Secret Realm will open. Prepare well. You don’t want to miss your chance.”

“Tomorrow, you’ll undergo a special medicinal bath. Be there on time. It will greatly benefit your foundation and help pave the way to the Foundation Establishment realm.”

“Alright, you may go.”

With that, Zhao Li handed Ye Lin twenty low-grade Spirit Stones, five mid-grade basic-tier Spiritual Nourishing Pills, and a sect token before waving him off.

Whenever a new inner disciple was promoted, Zhao Li made a point to offer a few kind words. He was a shrewd character—after all, no one could predict when a hidden genius might emerge. If they rose to prominence someday, at least he’d have a connection.

Offering a bit of courtesy cost him nothing.

“Senior Disciple Brother, I’ll take my leave now.” Huang Xiong said, bowing respectfully to Ye Lin before turning to leave.

As an outer disciple, he wasn’t permitted to linger in the Inner Sect. Though reluctant to part with the rich spirit qi that filled the area, he had no choice.

“No wonder everyone dreams of entering the Inner Sect. Just the spirit qi and these resources, this is far beyond what the Outer Sect can offer.” Ye Lin mused, looking down at the resources in his hands.

Among these items, what was truly valuable wasn’t the Spirit Stones, but the Spiritual Nourishing Pills. These pills nurtured the spiritual soul.

Although they were only mid-grade basic-tier pills with a relatively modest effect, anything that nurtured the spiritual soul was rare and precious.

The spiritual soul was akin to the soul. It enhanced perception, offered resistance against spiritual assaults such as illusions.

A sufficiently powerful spiritual soul could even allow one to survive the destruction of their physical body.

With the token in hand, Ye Lin arrived at his residence, an area specially designated for him within the sect.

Raising his gaze, he saw nine towering peaks in the distance, each piercing the sky like ancient spears. Those were the cultivation dwellings of the nine inner elders and their personal disciples.

“Tomorrow is the medicinal bath, and in five days, the secret realm opens. I should seize Huang Xiong’s opportunity first. As for Lin Ziyou’s… that can wait.” Ye Lin thought to himself.

His plan was clear: seize Huang Xiong’s opportunity today, undergo the medicinal bath tomorrow, and spend the next three days preparing to enter the secret realm.

Lin Ziyou’s opportunity wasn’t urgent. He could claim it after emerging from the secret realm.

Of course, he hadn’t forgotten Zhao Li’s opportunity—the Fire Spirit Stones. With rich fire element, they would be perfect for nourishing the Spirit Fire within his dantian.

That Spirit Fire was currently his greatest trump card; the stronger it grew, the more confident he would become.

“Once I enter the secret realm, my first destination will be the Blazing Valley. I must get there before Zhao Li.”

“That’s settled, then.”

Having organized his priorities, Ye Lin swiftly left the Inner Sect and headed for the outside world.

Along the way, outer disciples and handyman disciples alike looked at him with admiration and awe. As a hot-blooded young man, Ye Lin couldn’t help but enjoy the attention.

Huang Xiong’s opportunity lay deep in the heart of the Hundred Thousand Li Mountain Range, within the Purple Deep Spring—a place teeming with demon beasts year-round. Ordinary cultivators wouldn’t dare set foot there.

"This opportunity really isn’t easy to claim." Ye Lin muttered to himself.

On the way to the Purple Deep Spring, the roars of demon beasts echoed intermittently. Fortunately, Ye Lin had remained cautious throughout the journey and reached his destination without incident.

Despite its elegant name, the Purple Deep Spring was merely a moderately sized pool.

"So many demon beasts..." Ye Lin whispered, concealed in the tall grass as he observed the area ahead.

The spring was surrounded by numerous demon beasts, such as three-meter-tall tigers and five-meter-long crocodiles, all exuding an oppressive, all carnivorous demon beasts.

However, the strength of these demon beasts was relatively low. Most were only at the 5th or 6th layer Qi Refinement realm.

"For the sword talisman... it’s worth the risk."

With no opening in sight, Ye Lin drew the sword from his Interspatial Ring and then burst out from his hiding place.

Roar!

As soon as he appeared, the demon beasts locked onto him, unleashing deafening roars.

“Ahh!” Ye Lin shouted.

A crimson sword ray flashed. In an instant, the tiger demon that had roared the loudest was cleaved in two.

Green flames ignited on the corpse. Within moments, it disintegrated into ash and scattered in the wind.

The other demon beasts, witnessing the horrifying scene, panicked and fled in all directions. Within minutes, the area was empty.

These demon beasts possessed slightly higher intelligence than ordinary animals, but not by much. When faced with danger, they chose to flee rather than fight to the death.

Ye Lin exhaled deeply.

Though the individual demon beasts weren’t that strong, but if they had attacked together, he would’ve been overwhelmed.
