The situation became even more peculiar as South Korea lacked full control over its military, with all military commands in American hands, raising questions about its sovereignty.

The upper echelons of the Republic of Korea were in chaos, with a proliferation of cults among the common people. Bizarre religious beliefs were widespread, and believers in cults were everywhere. In this era of mythological resurgence, it had become a breeding ground for all sorts of malevolent entities.
