On the isolated island on the east coast of the Land of Dragon, the Obsidian King, Drexler’s ascension ceremony had reached its final stage.

In a world that only he could see, inside the realm of his divine fire, a crystal of indescribable shape was forming. This was the manifestation of his godhood.

“Finally, it has come to this step.”

Drexler let out a sigh.

He thought back to his past.

As a mighty dragon, he was born with the status of being at the top of the food chain. When he passed his juvenile stage, he was already a powerful magical beast that could survive alone in the world of San Soliel.

Drexler was once just an ordinary black dragon. He was no different from other dragons at birth. And when he was young, he was even thinner and weaker than others of his species.

As he grew up, he found that he was significantly different from other dragons. Specifically, his ambition, desire, motivation, and willingness to learn exceeded that of his compatriots by leaps and bounds.

Dragons, after all, were slow and lazy beings for the most part. They did not exercise at all to increase their capabilities and only relied on the knowledge that was passed onto them. They did not believe in effortful self-improvement.

But Drexler was different. He had far more curiosity and initiative compared to other dragons. At a very young age, he took the initiative to learn knowledge from different races while retaining his belief in draconic superiority.

But he was not rejected by the dragons. Dragons were originally lazy creatures, but Drexler who sought to learn grew stronger at a faster rate compared to others.

Drexler was a dragon who knew how to share. He joyfully told the other dragons about his discoveries, but even if they believed his words, they were too lazy to do anything. Since dragons could become the strongest race without doing anything, why waste time and energy to learn? For them, the more they could sleep, the better.
