Horror Game Designer Chapter 441: Giant Tree, Gao Ming

Gao Ming had no idea what kind of ghost this flesh tree made from the Fear Illness and Ji Jie was. The God of Flesh and Blood didn’t seem like he knew any better. However, one thing was certain. Even Yan Xizhi, who was a Dream Ghost, couldn’t do anything to it.

Normally, a Dream Ghost could weave their dream realm or construct a ‘divine kingdom’ that existed between the shadow world and the real world using the faith of the endless disciples. The situation with the flesh tree was completely different. It had no death realm, nor did it create a nightmare between the real world and the shadow world. However, the Fear Illness had fully spread in the east city. It was as if the entire east zone had become its death realm. The God of Flesh and Blood had not seen this situation before. Neither had Gao Ming. It could be said that his old friend, Ji Jie, had escaped the shackles of fate earlier than he did.

Ji Jie, “You’re bringing me to a fun place?! Where? Are you lying to me? All of you have left, leaving me here alone!” The words were filled with resentment. It was like a curse on all living things. However, Ji Jie didn’t seem to realise that. He continued to write messages in the chatgroup like nothing had changed. After Gao Ming arrived, the chatgroup of Class 13 had become a dead chatgroup in various ways.

Gao Ming, “Your branches touch the sky, and roots dig into the dark river. You can see further than all of us. Then, you should have sensed that this city is like a prison. You can’t achieve real freedom.”

Ji Jie, “It is not that bad. Hahaha.”

Gao Ming, “The reason I’m here this time is to bring you outside the city to check it out. I am here to help you stretch your roots into the black mist to have you see for yourself whether it is death or sanctuary out there.”

Xi San, “This group is still active?! What the hell!”

Ji Jie, “What should I do? Even though I’m the chosen few, I still cannot control my power.”

Gao Ming, “Where is the core of your consciousness?”

Ji Jie, “The centre of the main hall.”

Gao Ming ignored the messages sent by Xi San and made his way briskly to the main hall. He had the God of Flesh and Blood peel back the layers of leaves. Gao Ming found Ji Jie deep underneath the main hall. Ji Jie had combined with the flesh tree. Roots crawled through his bones to pierce his soul. The bloody leaves fluttered before Gao Ming’s face. Ji Jie’s eyes were closed peacefully.

“Old friend?” Ji Jie didn’t respond, but Gao Ming’s phone kept vibrating. He checked and realised Ji Jie and Xi San were chatting about life.

“Ji Jie is clearly dead. Who is chatting with Xi San in the chatgroup? Ji Jie’s soul or the Fear Illness Doll?” Gao Ming dripped one drop of his blood into Ji Jie’s mouth. The giant tree that connected the sky and earth trembled. The canopy grew further, and the smell of blood thickened.

Ji Jie, “Gao Ming, Gao Ming! What did you just feed me? It’s so delicious! Give me more!”

Ji Jie kept sending messages. He occasionally tapped Gao Ming’s profile. His red messages were like blood. Normal people would be freaked out by it. Gao Ming communicated with the God of Flesh and Blood. God could sense the same source of energy within the flesh tree, but he couldn’t consume it. With a frown, Gao Ming took out the death portrait of the Fear Illness. He didn’t want to harm the flesh tree. He just wanted to try if he could bring part of the flesh tree into the black mist.

Ji Jie, “Brother, what is that in your hands? Why does it feel familiar to me?”

Gao Ming, “I can’t move this giant tree. I want to see if I can carry a part of you out with me first.”

Ji Jie, “There’s no need to go through that much trouble. Just dig out my stomach, neck and brain.”

The goriness of the conversation shut Xi San up. It also cancelled his idea of grabbing their other classmates to join the chat.

The God of Flesh and Blood touched the tree and found three seeds the size of one’s fist at the three spots mentioned by Ji Jie. The seed of the brain had Ji Jie’s face carved on it. The seed of the stomach hid a deformed doll. The seed of the neck was the strangest, with pictures of many faces.

Ji Jie, “The giant tree previously had no seed. But I didn’t like that. How can a plant have no seed? Strangely enough, with my constant urging and praying, this divine tree nurtured these three seeds in my body.”

Seeing Ji Jie’s messages, all the classmates, including Gao Ming, were stunned.

The Fear Illness could manifest people’s fear. It was a monster that existed in one’s imagination. However, Ji Jie somehow used his own imagination to slowly make up the flesh tree’s weaknesses.

Ji Jie, “The world is getting more chaotic. When I can fully master this power, I’ll go save you!”

Gao Ming, “Thank you for your kindness. The place I’m going to at this time is Piety Safety Town, which is on the edge of the city. After figuring out the reason behind the black mist’s appearance, I will take the bus to the tunnel where we met the accident many years ago. If anyone is interested, they can come with me.”

Ji Jie, “My roots are growing rapidly underneath Han Hai. However, people don’t realise that. Give me a few days and watch me crawl over there directly.”

Ji Jie sent an emote of a person crawling through the dark. Other than Xi San, no one responded to him.

Putting away the three seeds, Gao Ming left Ji Jie. The main reason he was at the school was for Yan Xizhi.

Zhang Ding was heavily injured, but he managed to find out more about the headquarters. This unnerved Gao Ming.

Gao Ming entered the admin building and headed to the headmaster’s office. Just as he pushed open the door, the scent of rot assaulted him.

Then, the light black mist enveloped Gao Ming’s sight. He saw Yan Xizhi sitting before the office table. This serious old lady was covered in giant wounds that couldn’t heal. The black mist oozed out of the wounds.

“The black mist comes from the wounds of Dream Ghosts?!” Gao Ming initially wanted to get Yan Xizhi to help him but the old headmaster was in a worse state than he thought, “Headmaster Yan, who did this to you? Where are the other students at this school?”

Yan Xizhi opened her eyes. It took her some time to focus her eyes. She looked at Gao Ming, “A few days ago, the black mist suddenly appeared in the countryside of the east city. I went there to take a look.”
