Sitting on the couch inside Prosperity Neighbourhood’s Room 1801, Wang Jie’s expression was dark. His pupils danced slightly to cover the anxiety inside his eyes. The room was luxuriously decorated. There were named brands everywhere. A lot of the furniture was designed by masters. They were handmade and could not be replicated. It was the dream of many people to live in a house like this. However, the current owner gripped his hands together, and his nails dug into the backs of his hands so deeply that they bled.

“Who discovered it?”

An open present box sat on the coffee table before Wang Jie. There was a knife with an almost-broken tip inside the box. The body of the blade was thin. Mud and blackened water weeds stained the hilt. There was even a horrible stink.

“He has found my murder weapon, but why did he mail it to me? What else does he know? He saw me killing that person!”

Wang Jie pulled on his hair, and his handsome face was rather twisted. “I can’t remember. I can’t remember so many things. Why is that?”

Wang Jie let go of his hair. He slowly reached for the knife before grabbing it. The memory hidden deep inside his heart that he didn’t want to face slowly surfaced. That was his first murder. After a lot of planning, he killed a random homeless person. The knife stabbed into the man’s body. It was completely different from when he practised it. He was too nervous. The knife cut into the bone, and he almost injured himself. Therefore, the knife had both the victim and his blood. It could not be discovered!

His gritted teeth slowly relaxed. Wang Jie stared at the blade he was holding. He breathed heavily as if reliving that moment. Back then, killing a human felt so much better than killing rats, cats and dogs.

“I need to find someone who sent me this present and then… make him shut up forever.” Wang Jie hid the knife inside his clothes and looked around.
