When the nation was established not long ago, Chiyou City was renamed to announce Chiyou’s return to the world. Despite the passage of three thousand years, his name still carried resounding fame.

The sovereign of a royal dynasty, who had once served under Chiyou, had immediately handed over his nation and pledged allegiance upon hearing of Chiyou’s return. Likewise, the sect masters of six lower-tier sects willingly ceded their factions to him.

In a brief span of time, the Nine Li Royal Dynasty advanced to the Nine Li Imperial Dynasty. Its sovereign returned with unstoppable momentum. Although still far from its former glory, the dynasty began to take shape and expand.

The subjects of the Nine Li Imperial Dynasty understood the immense strength of Chiyou and firmly believed that, apart from the Huang Heavenly Dynasty, no one dared to challenge them.

However, on this fateful day, a calamity befell them.

Torrents of lightning cascaded from the heavens on Chiyou City’s formidable defensive ritual array, like a celestial river breaching its banks and engulfing the capital’s vicinity.

The once thriving land surrounding the city had been reduced to scorched earth.

The people within the city wore expressions of terror as cracks marred the protective ritual array, threatening its integrity. The looming deluge of lightning posed a dire threat to the citizens’ lives.

The lethal menace hung heavy in the hearts of all.

Accompanied by his loyal subjects, Chiyou cast a stony gaze upon the roiling thunderclouds above.

“Your Reverence, that…that is divine sky heavenly lightning? There is so much of it?” a startled official exclaimed.

A giant stared with narrowed eyes. “Eldest Brother, is this an electric eel spirit?”

Chiyou’s lips curled in a wintry smile. “The Heavenly Demon Holy Land? They are relentless, following us even to the land of the living. This is the Number Ten we encountered a few days ago?”
