EIF - Book 06 Chapter 085: Imminent Death

“Oh?” The peacocks felt slightly startled.

Phew! The Metal Buddha inwardly released his bated breath.

He had worried that Gu Hai would kick him while he was down.

The Metal Buddha did not worry about the peacock race attacking him. However, he could not bear the resentment they felt. As he looked at Gu Hai, he unconsciously felt some gratitude.

“Your Reverence, this subject would like to give the old prime a send-off first!” Kong Xuan requested earnestly.

Gu Hai nodded.

The group flew to the Peacock Deity Hall’s entrance.

“Prime!”

“Salutations, Prime!”

“Prime!”

When the peacocks collecting the bodies saw Kong Xuan fly over, they saluted respectfully.

After what they had just experienced, all the peacocks on Peacock Deity Island acknowledged Kong Xuan. If not for him, it would have been over for the peacock race.

The five severely injured elders made some arrangements, then followed Kong Xuan back to the Peacock Deity Hall.

The old prime’s eyes remained open.

“Prime!” The elders again wept as they bowed.

Although the elders acknowledged Kong Xuan, no one could erase the old prime’s prestige.

“Amitābha!” the Metal Buddha suddenly said.

After that, the Metal Buddha sat down cross-legged and started chanting the scriptures.

“The Sending Scripture? The Metal Buddha is granting the old prime release!” The peacocks looked at the Metal Buddha in gratitude.

Kong Xuan approached and gently touched the old prime’s eyelids, closing the old prime’s eyes.

“The peacock race has me now. You can rest in peace!” Kong Xuan said gravely.

Buzz!

As the Metal Buddha chanted, golden light poured towards the old prime’s body from his mouth. Then, a translucent blue figure slowly emerged from the old prime’s corpse.

“Mortal soul?” Gu Hai frowned slightly.

After one died, the mortal soul remained in the corpse or the grave.

Now, the old prime’s mortal soul appeared.

“Prime!” Countless peacocks immediately knelt in excitement.

The old prime looked at Kong Xuan with gratitude in his eyes. Then, he bowed gravely to Ko
