Another World Trip: Journey with My Cat and an Otaku Loli Goddess Chapter 375 - The Documentary Of An Arrogant Young Master

Somehow, this was the story of my life.

“Long Di, grab thy shit and come hither! The relic is about to open!”

****

A colossal structure that stood in defiance of the very heavens was nestled quietly deep in a forest.

Multiple spires jutted upwards as if in a bid to pierce the azure vault above, which lent it an air of domineeringness.

It was a palace of sorts through and through. There was neither gate nor door that would allow one to peer into this magnificent architecture.

Instead, there was a swirling portal that crackled gently within its depths.

Before, this structure would have remained unseen and untouched by all who came here, but it was not the case recently.

A barrier of sorts that shielded it from the touch and senses of most was mysteriously dispelled a few months ago. Since then, countless powers descended upon it and tried to break through the shield that kept it safe but were powerless to shake it.

Nevertheless, this once peaceful forest was beset by powerful cultivators and other powers at all times who wished to be the first to enter this relic once it did.

It was the most erudite of scholars who looked upon the runes and deduced that this structure belonged to Duan Meilin, a follower of Peach Blossom Venerate.

Peach Blossom Venerate was an extremely powerful expert who played a part in fighting a war that saved the continent. Even though he fell, he was still revered by many.

Duan Meilin was one of his generals and a devout follower of his. She obtained many accolades and never betrayed the Venerate, even going as far as to lay down her life so that he could survive.

She was a True Star Sage before she died, so obviously this was a True Star Sage-level Relic.

Despite the barrier that kept it from any sort of perception disappearing some time ago, the shield that kept it safe still stood strong no matter who tried to break it through.

This caused the level of excitement it had when it was first discovered to wane. Even though it was still packed regularly, it couldn’t compare to the beginning.

However, some time ago, the barrier started reacting and as a result, the crowd that was like a ticking time bomb erupted and the excitement was at an all-time high.

When Long Di and company first arrived, they were surprised at how packed it was. It couldn’t even compare to the last ‘not relic’ he had gone to.

Shen Ling, Xiannu Liang, Jiancheng Shu, Mina, and even Qin Ling, as inexperienced as she was, were surprised at the number of people present.

Curiously, enough Pebbles was on top of Jiancheng Shu’s head, whispering something to him, which caused him to laugh mischievously. Long Di dreaded whatever fresh hell these two were cooking up.

Not only that, several auras caused Long Di to put his guard up as he realised that there were people here that he had to be careful of.

Xiannu Liang saw this and pulled her cowl over her head ever tighter to keep her appearance from view.

Though it wasn’t to the point of being packed like sardines, people were uncomfortably close to each other all the same. Cultivators typically had a range that they considered themselves to be safe at.

Depending on the realm, this range could be anywhere from a couple hundred feet to a few miles apart. If someone intruded in this range, that person could attack leaving the victim with too little time to react.

As a result, it was an unspoken rule to give each person or group this much distance at least to avoid any possible altercations. That could come when the relic was open.

Unfortunately, the existence of this relic being known for as long as it did caused its popularity to be something very rarely seen. So the number of people exceeded the norm by a wide margin.

So lots of people occupied some of the best spots already. However, this wasn’t to be looked upon simply.

The barrier gave off fluctuations that caused it to be unapproachable to the weak. Because of this, only those with sufficient strength could get really close.

Long Di looked around and saw that even the towering trees were filled with experts just waiting to get in.

“How do we get closer?” Mina asked, feeling her skin crawl at the number of people.

They were at the absolute back at the moment, and they didn’t wish to get too close to anyone and cause trouble.

“We can only go through.” Long Di stated, seeing the problem himself but not caring. “Just be careful not to look at anyone too hard—I’m looking at you Pebbles—or antagonise anyone, that’s for you, Jiancheng Shu. It seems that everyone is a bit tense at the moment, so don’t cause any trouble.”

“Long Di,” Pebbles looked at Long Di smugly. “It’s Pebbles you’re talking to here. Discreet is my middle name.”

“You’re my emotional support animal, and I have been told by more than one person that my emotions are jacked up and lack consistency. Now if you’re as good at being my emotional support as you are at embodying any of the middle names that you’ve taken, then our metaphorical, possible physical asses are screwed. And I don’t want my physical ass screwed.”

“Would you like your metaphorical ass screwed?” Jiancheng Shu asked.

“I don’t want any of my asses screwed,” Long Di clarified.

“L-Long Di, can you stop talking about that?” Qin Ling and Shen Ling came forward at the same time to stop Long Di from talking about asses since they were drawing quite a few looks from the nearby experts.

“Whatever,” Long Di, of course, didn't care. “Let’s go.”

Long Di and his group started their careful trek through the sea of experts. They kept their auras subdued and even though quite a few experts bristled, no one made a move.

Seeing this, Qin Ling, Mina, Xiannu Liang and Shen Ling sighed in relief. Jiancheng Shu was quite curious and even though he looked all over, he didn’t keep his gaze on anyone too long.

However, they soon found that as they got further, a formless pressure slowly built up.

It was practically non-existent at first but as they got closer; the pressure grew.

Curiously enough, the pressure didn’t seem to affect Shen Ling. Upon realising this, she took the vanguard with Long Di and immediately the pressure on everyone else lessened.

It was almost to the point where they couldn’t feel it. As she was actively using Blossoming Abyss as well, the experts couldn’t feel and were ignorant of her existence.

Shing!

All of a sudden, the shield trembled and furiously flashed as if it was just about to open.

“Get ready!”

No one knew who said this but everyone else’s nerves were drawn taut. At the same time, the people whose aura Long Di and company were infringing slowly released their killing intent.

They were wordlessly telling Long Di and his friends to scram or they would attack.

Getting the message, Long Di sped up to leave these people's territory as quickly as possible.

This caused other people to release their cultivation bases as they readied themselves to attack Long Di; however, they just got ready when Long Di and his group had already left their territory.

This continued for quite some time until the group found themselves at the front of the mob. They looked back and saw many people staring at them in shock.

It wasn’t because they intruded on so many people’s territories; it was because they were seemingly able to get so far despite being so young!

At this stage, only Peak Martial Masters and the disciples they had under their protection were able to be here.

How young were the people in Long Di’s group!? Which one of them was a Martial Master!?

And was that a Ren’duan with a cat!? Wait, was that a cat!? What’s going on!?

Long Di saw that many of them doubted their strength, possibly thinking that they owned some treasure that allowed them to circumvent the pressure.

As far as Long Di was concerned, they owned a Shen Ling. Does that count?

“What dog shit trash is this!?”

Long Di and Pebbles turned around immediately and it was then that they saw it.

“Look Pebbles, it seems to be a young master of the homo arrogans stupidus dumbassius genus.”

Pebbles the Wondercat’s expression became serious as he scrutinised this cancerous blight in cultivation novels. “As I live and breathe! Long Di you’re right! I think it sees us too!”

“That’s right Pebbles, remember their vision is based on movement.” Long Di nodded in a ponderous posture.

“How are you sure that its genus is of the homo arrogans stupidus dumbassius category?” Pebbles asked.

“Well, it looks like a human, smells like shit and sounds like ass. I say, Pebbles, how could it be anything BUT that type?”

“You’re right?” Pebbles stood on two feet and put his paws behind his back like a wise sage. “We’ve seen so many in the wild nowadays. They weren’t prevalent in our old world. Or at least they weren’t so blatant.”

“That’s on account of cancer killing cancer. In our old world social media and/or cancel culture went into all-out war with them. Now they only exist as their far removed cousin, the ‘Karen.’”

“Riveting!” Pebbles rubbed his chin.

The so-called young master who spoke earlier observed the back and forth between Long Di and was at a loss.

Did they just insult him? Why did he feel insulted!?

They didn’t even acknowledge when he spoke. Suddenly, his face went red with embarrassment and he didn’t know why.

He then pointed at Long Di and Pebbles. “Do you know who I am!?”

Pebbles and Long Di both exclaimed at the same time. “It’s their mating call!”
