Behind them, Cheng Lin’s phone accidentally slipped out of her hand and fell on the floor.

As Ji Fanyin turned to look at her, she awkwardly cleared her throat with her phone in hand. “I’m sorry, please go on.”

“It’s alright. I’m done here,” Ji Fanyin replied.

Hearing that, Cheng Lin rubbed her earlobe nervously. “Oh… Oh, then let’s go. The hospital smells bad.”

Ji Fanyin nodded her head and made her way to the door.

“Sister…” Ji Xinxin sobbed behind her.

Ji Fanyin halted her steps.

Ever since they were children, everytime Ji Xinxin pleaded with tears in her eyes, Ji Fanyin would always agree to whatever she asked for.

It was like her tears were an omnipotent weapon that had never tasted defeat.

But like other weapons and tools, there was a usage limit.

Ji Fanyin only hesitated for a split second and quickly caught up with Cheng Lin, who closed the door behind them.

“You did well,” Cheng Lin said rigidly.

Ji Fanyin looked at her curiously. Thinking she was being praised for not going with the flow this time, she nodded her head. “En, I tried to imitate what the other Ji Fanyin would do.”

Cheng Lin: “... That teacher of yours was truly formidable. Learn more from her and you will surely not lose out.”

As they alighted from the lift at the ground floor, a group of people flowed in.

From her peripheral vision, Ji Fanyin caught sight of Father and Mother Ji amongst them.

Father Ji’s luscious black hair was now populated with white hair, and Mother Ji was dressed in simple and plain clothing. It was a far cry from the glamorous branded clothes she used to wear.

To think they were both such attention seekers in the past...

Ji Fanyin could not help taking a second look.

Father and Mother Ji did not notice her. With two large suitcases behind them and another bag on Father Ji’s back, it seemed like they were planning on an extended stay.

Cheng Lin had only noticed the latter lagging behind after she was two steps in front. Curiously, she asked, “What did you see?”

“Mm… I saw my parents.”
