“Wait!” Ji Fanyin subconsciously called Bai Zhou to stop. “I can’t accept this gift. You should take it back with you.”

Cheng Lin was sipping her tea when she heard those words. She stood up and walked over to the window, where she quickly spotted Bai Zhou, and let out a “Hmm” sound.

“Throw it away then,” Bai Zhou said as he slipped into his car.

“I am not the person you like!” Ji Fanyin cried out.

Bai Zhou froze up when he heard her. He slowly turned around to look at Ji Fanyin from his car.

Since Ji Fanyin was at a distance, she couldn’t see his face clearly, but she knew that he must have been feeling discomposed.

Looking at Bai Zhou’s earlier reaction, no one would have thought that he used to be a hot-tempered youth who didn’t hesitate to hit others.

Ji Fanyin firmly repeated her words, “I’m not the person you like, so I can’t accept your gift.”

“… What do you mean?”

“I mean…” Ji Fanyin was about to blurt out the truth when she suddenly found herself hesitating whether she should go with that. In the end, she decided to go with the fictitious ‘dissociative identity disorder’ explanation. “I am the Ji Fanyin you despise. I am not the same Ji Fanyin you like.”

She thought that the explanation made much more sense to others. From the window, she could see Bai Zhou lowering his head.

Bai Zhou raised his head. He stood beside his open car for roughly half a minute, not saying a single word at all. After a prolonged silence, he said, “You can throw it away.”

He hung up the call afterward and got into his car. The black Benz reversed for a little before doing a u-turn. Within moments, it had already quietly vanished at the other end of the street.

Ji Fanyin stared at the hung up call in distress.

“What did he say?” Cheng Lin asked as she prodded the little model of Santorini on the table.
