Special District 9 Chapter 97: The Start of a Conflict

Inside the light music bar.

After Qin Yu introduced Old Ma and the others to Lin Nianlei, they settled down around a table.

“Will this work?” Old Ma turned to Qin Yu and asked softly.

“Not sure. We’ll be asking my friend’s older brother for help once he’s done with his work on top,” Qin Yu leaned over and replied.

“Help me thank your friend on my behalf,” Old Ma said. He had gone through quite a lot over the last two days, so he looked exceptionally frail at the moment.

By the side, Lin Nianlei took a look at Old Ma and the others before she turned to Qin Yu and said, “Later on, when my older brother comes down, don’t bother saying anything much. Just say that you’re my colleague, and we’re looking for Wen Tao over a scoop.”

“Is it inconvenient otherwise?” Qin Yu asked.

Lin Nianlei put on a wry smile as she replied, “My older brother doesn’t want to get involved in things related to the street.”

“Ah, I understand,” Qin Yu nodded knowingly.

Old Cat looked at Old Ma silently for a long while before he finally spoke up, “… As long as your older brother’s wits are still intact, there’s no way he would believe Uncle Ma and the others are your colleagues.”

Receiving Old Cat’s point, Old Ma stood up and said, “You all can continue on. We’ll wait at another table.”

“You should head over and order some cups of lemonade for Uncle Ma and the other brothers. This drink is good for relieving one’s bladder,” Old Cat turned to Guan Qi and said.

“…” Guan Qi rolled his eyes as he walked over to Old Ma’s table too.

Shortly after the group had finished discussing their plans, Lin Nianlei’s phone rang.

“Hello, Niannian? Ah no, brother, you’re done with your work? Nice! Come down then. I’m in the light music bar. Yeap. See you.”

Around ten minutes later, a good-looking young man, dressed in a woolen overcoat, entered the light music bar together with a companion.

“Over here, brother!” Lin Nianlei raised her hand up and called out.

“Oh, you have some friends here?” the young man remarked as he walked over with a smile.
